The day police found the body of her son, Maryanne Swenson posted on a Facebook page Bring Paul Home, "I have been privileged to the direct insight of the goodness of others and we thank God every day for each one. . . . We rely on our Heavenly Father and his infinite love to carry us. He is all knowing, and loving and all wise. One thing I do know is that He knows how to take difficult things and turn them into something beautiful. That instills hope and courage. Miracles. I believe in miracles. Especially ones of the heart. Paul, we love you. We always have. You were a gift from heaven."

On Sunday, August 13, police found the body of missing 30-year-old dad Paul Swenson from American Fork, Utah, floating in a river near businesses in Mill Creek. Swenson had been missing for nearly three weeks, having disappeared on July 27 after acting out of character earlier that same morning.

On Facebook, Swenson's family posted,

Our family has learned the heart-wrenching news that the body of our beloved Paul Heiner Swenson has been found. We are deeply pained to have our most dreaded fear confirmed. . . . Thank you for your prayers for Paul and our whole family. We are asking for privacy as our family takes the time to absorb this tragic news and to mourn.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to you as our community. Your support has lifted us. Please pray for us.

South Salt Lake Police Sgt. Gary Keller said "there was no obvious sign of foul play" and the "cause of death is still under investigation . . . pending results from laboratory and toxicology testing," according to the Deseret News.

Throughout this tragic event, Paul's family has posted on a Facebook page dedicated to finding him about the power of prayer and their testimonies of their Heavenly Father and family.
